If you want to know a little more about me before you purchase something, let me explain a little about my experience in picking out crystals and minerals.
I love crystals and minerals - and I see subtle energy. I was born seeing it. I don't know why I do, I just do. Sometimes it's a pain and other times, it's a gift. Like so many things in life.
I am attracted to stones that have a lot of energy. If they are not intense, I don't buy them. Lots of people feel energy. They know when they have an intense piece. You will know I am not bluffing when you experience one that I have picked out.
I've been buying, trading and selling crystals and minerals since 1976. I have owned a total of 7 gift galleries and each had an extensive crystal and mineral section. Because of that, I've built up a lot of contacts in the business and I've seen most of what's 'out there.' I couldn't count the hours I've spent sitting on the floor somewhere, going through flats of specimens, or crawling through a mine tunnel to see a new find... or balancing on rocks and barrels, looking through 50 gallon drums of rough material.
I'd never had a lot of interest in crystal skulls, before the ancient crystal skull, known as Synergy, came into my life in 2001. Over the next couple of years, they seemed to come my way and soon, I had over 500 of them! I thought that was hilarious and I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them.
I decided to keep some to 'play with' and sell the rest of them to people who came to see Synergy or were interested. It turned out that I could have sold 10 times what I had, and so I went in search of someone who could make some for me. I talked with several of my long time vendors who own mines in South America and China. They said they'd see that they could come up with for me. It took awhile to get the quality that I want, but now I am able to get some neat stuff!
Now I've seen and handled thousands of small crystal skulls, looking for ones with an intact energy matrix and that are well carved. I especially like the quartz skulls with rainbows, but I love anything that is intense. <G>
It's fairly easy to find small skulls made from all kinds of crystals and minerals, these days. The quality of the artwork varies wildly, as does the energy of the stone it's been carved from, but there are some very nice ones available, if you can find them. The larger skulls (4-5" and up) are harder to find, and are getting to be expensive. About 80-85% of the original crystal is lost with carving, so the cost rises fast when you get a larger piece.
As I said, I've bought sold and traded "rocks" and other things for 30 years now. I'm well known as a buyer and as a 'high-grader' or 'cherry-picker.' That's slang for someone who goes through everything a vendor has and then methodically picks out their best. 'Best' is an opinion, of course. What 'best' means is specific to whatever you are buying.
The 'Best' to me as far as skulls go means the energy is intense, the stone is nice looking and the carving is good. In one way or another, I've made my living with 'my eye' all of my life and it has served me well. Because none of us can see precisely what another person sees, I can only guess why my 'eye' has been so valuable to myself and others. (I still feel strange about talking about how I have 'an eye' and what a good buyer I am. It sounds so pompous. All I can say in my defense is that my record speaks for itself.)
Most buyers don't see energy and they don't have what is called 'the eye' to see the difference in quality. They literally can't see the difference between various similar items, beyond a certain degree. I'm not trying to brag, it's just a fact. A carver or vendor who's been around for awhile knows from experience that there are not that many buyers with 'the eye' and so it's a good bet that most other buyers won't or can't see the difference after I go through their mix. Because I buy a lot of items (and I pay on time <G> ) I get to go through things before most other Buyers get a chance to. There is no real harm to the vendor in letting a buyer with 'an eye' go through their mix at the beginning of a show, before anyone else looks through their things. It's common for a major supplier to make the (expensive) journey to a major show just once a year. I have to work fast to get to them before anyone else does.
You may read somewhere that someone has been the second person to look at something, after the carver. That may or may not be true; I have no way of knowing. I do know that I am there when stuff comes out of the crates at the biggest show in the world, and I pick the top items before others even see it. That doesn't mean that other people don't have great skulls. They can and do. That's one of the things that I love about America - competition keeps the market balanced. The customer sets the price in a free market economy ad there is always something different available.
Some of what people call 'my eye' involves the way that I can see the energy around things - or the lack of energy. I am not attracted to things that are energetically 'dead.' My reasons for the choices I make are usually conscious and obvious to me but sometimes it can be extremely subtle. I know that my capability influences what I decide to have around me, as well as the things that I pick to sell.
I still find myself puzzled at why most people don't or can't see what I see. It seems so obvious to me. But, it's evidently not obvious or more people would notice.
OK, enough of that. I hope this helps lay the ground work to explain that I don't just have a few generic crystal skulls or other items to sell. The ones I've picked are the best -- from the top mines and the top carvers in the world.

Do you know this story? He was a man who lived in the 1800’s, who walked all over the US, dropping apple seeds, so that they would someday grow into trees.
In 2004 I had some health problems that meant that I wasn't able to travel with Synergy, the ancient crystal skull that I take care of. I felt bad that this unique energy was not out there to share with people. We came up with the idea of sending out small skulls that has been with Synergy. Many people who want to experience the ‘Synergy Energy’ for themselves do so now, through the smaller skulls and various crystals and stones that I am offering.
I am back to traveling, but I still send out these skulls. From what I hear, people feel the energy connection to Synergy intensely. Since Synergy and I were in Glastonbury, last Fall, and now even more so since our recent trip to Holland, this energy is getting stronger and stronger. People send me emails from all over the world with tales of their experiences. It's really cool - or "Vet Cool" - as they say in Holland. :-D
I can see subtle energies. I was born that way. I didn’t do anything to make it happen - it’s just the way I am. Among other things, I can see the energy that goes between Synergy and various skulls. It is very interesting. Synergy sends out this energy to the various skulls and other stones and it fills them and changes them. The original energy is there, but it is added to. It doesn’t have to be a skull shape; it can be any stone.
Anyone who works with crystals and stones will understand these concepts right away. It’s only the people who don’t know anything about crystals and metaphysics that will wonder what the heck I am talking about - and they would not be interested in any of this anyhow! If you have one of my skulls or other crystals, you will know exactly what I mean. Authors Desy and Joshua Shapiro have a smaller crystal skull that I gave to them when we met, five years ago. They named it Syner-Li and they can easily access the ‘Synergy Energy’ through it.
I have always been reluctant to talk about myself and what I do, and I have confined it mostly to my website (check out my About Me page and look under favorite links), in my spiritual awareness workshops and in specific live media interviews. I felt a little strange putting the photo of Synergy and myself in the listings, but I know it makes sense to give people some kind of reference point about us.
People have asked me about how I clear my stones. I use a variety of methods, depending on the stone type. Some I clear in sea salt water. Others I have cleared with sunlight or moonlight. Some I have used sage or cedar on. After they were cleared, I put each of them near Synergy, rotating them around, depending on what I feel is 'right.' Every one of the stones that I list has been with Synergy - that's the whole point of doing this!
Here is one way for you to work with your crystal skull:
The first layer of working with any skull, including Synergy, is "to remember." This is the first layer - and this layer has many other layers within it. What you are to called to remember is who you really are. It's so easy to get caught up in the daily things and forget that each life is short and sweet, even with the difficulties.
The real you is a Being of Light. You are a Spiritual Being, inside of a physical body. Remember.
Hold your skull firmly in either both hands or in just the right hand, keeping the thought of what you wish to work with in mind. The crystal receives the energies via the physical body of the person holding it, absorbs the vibrations, then amplifies them and re-broadcasts them outwards. These amplifications are received by the chakra (or receptors) in the left hand and relayed up the arm, to the brain, to a gland called the hypothalamus and or the limbic system, impressing the vibrations on the sub-conscious mind. The energy continues on, moving down to the right hand, holding the crystal. The process continues in a loop, reinforcing itself. The skull shape is thought to be especially effective in this process, as the inside back of the skull acts as a kind of satellite dish, to broadcast the vibrations of the person using it.
